N,N'-Diisopropylcarbodiimide is used as a reagent in synthetic organic chemistry. It serves as a chemical intermediate and as a stabilizer for Sarin (chemical weapon). It is also used in the synthesis of peptide and nucleic acid. Further, it is used as an antineoplastic and involved in the treatment of malignant melanoma and sarcomas. In addition to this, it is used in the synthesis of acid anhydride, aldehyde, ketone and isocyanate.

Anwendungen
N,N′-Diisopropylcarbodiimid wird als Reagenz in der synthetischen organischen Chemie eingesetzt. Sie dient als chemisches Zwischenprodukt und als Stabilisator für Sarin (chemische Waffe). Es wird auch bei der Synthese von Peptid und Nukleinsäure eingesetzt. Darüber hinaus wird es als Antineoplast verwendet und ist an der Behandlung von malignem Melanom und Sarkomen beteiligt. Ferner wird es bei der Synthese von Säureanhydrid, Aldehyd, Keton und Isocyanat eingesetzt.

Löslichkeit
Löslich in Chloroform, Methylenchlorid, Acetonitril, Dioxan, Dimethylformamid und Tetrahydrofuran.

Hinweise
Feuchtigkeitsempfindlich. Kühl lagern. Unverträglich mit Oxidationsmitteln und Säuren.
