Description

Tris(trimethylsilyl)silane is used in hydrosilylations of carbonyls, radical reactions, reductions of acid chlorides, and carbon-halogen bonds. It acts a mediator of radical reactions and considered to be a nontoxic substitute for tri-n-butylstannane in radical reactions. It forms complexes with transition metals and main group elements. Further, it is utilized in carbon-carbon bond forming reactions.

Anwendungen
Tris(trimethylsilyl)silan wird in Hydrosilylierungen von Carbonylen, radikalen Reaktionen, Reduktionen von sauren Chloriden und Kohlenstoff-Halogen-Bindungen verwendet. Es fungiert als Vermittler radikaler Reaktionen und gilt als ungiftiger Ersatz für Tri-n-Butylstannan bei radikalen Reaktionen. Es bildet Komplexe mit Übergangsmetallen und Hauptgruppenelementen. Darüber hinaus wird es in Kohlenstoff-Kohlenstoff-Bindungsreaktionen eingesetzt.

Löslichkeit
Mischbar mit Pentan, Äther, Toluol und Tetrahydrofuran. Geringfügig mischbar mit Aceton und Acetonitril. Nicht mit Wasser mischbar.

Hinweise
Lichtempfindlich. Nicht kompatibel mit starken Oxidationsmitteln.
