Description
4-(Dimethylamino)pyridine is a useful nucleophilic catalyst for various reactions viz. esterifications with anhydrides, the Baylis-Hillman reaction, hydrosilylations, tritylation and Steglich rearrangement. It is also an effective catalyst for transesterification of beta-keto esters and silylation of alcohols.

Anwendungen
4-(Dimethylamino)pyridin ist ein nützlicher nucleophiler Katalysator für verschiedene Reaktionen, z. B. Veresterungen mit Anhydriden, der Baylis-Hillman-Reaktion, Hydrosilylierungen, Tritylierung und Steglich-Umlagerung. Löslichkeit
Löslich in Methanol, Benzol, Ethylacetat, Chloroform, Methylenchlorid, Aceton und Essigsäure. Schwer löslich in Ether, Diisopropylether, Cyclohexan, Hexan und Wasser.
Hinweise
Nicht kompatibel mit Oxidationsmitteln und Säuren.
