Silicon(IV) oxide is used in a variety of applications such as manufacturing of glass, ceramics and abrasives, and water filtration. It is a common additive in dentifrice oral care applications and the production of foods, where it is used primarily as an anti-caking and free-flow agent in powdered foods, or to absorb water in hygroscopic applications.

Silizium(IV)-oxid wird in einer Vielzahl von Anwendungen wie der Herstellung von Glas, Keramik und Schleifmitteln und der Wasserfiltration eingesetzt. Es ist ein häufig vorkommender Zusatzstoff für Anwendungen in der Zahnpflege und bei der Herstellung von Lebensmitteln, wo es vor allem als Antiback- und Fließmittel in pulverförmigen Lebensmitteln oder zur Wasseraufnahme bei hygroskopischen Anwendungen eingesetzt wird

Kühl lagern. Behälter an einem trockenen und gut belüfteten Ort dicht verschlossen halten. Nicht kompatibel mit Fluorwasserstoff.
